Where to take an eligible date - August

Summer is well and truly here and long may it stay (we say hopefully)! This month we've looked into the ideal events or special occasion in August which you might like to consider taking that special someone.

1.  FOWEY REGATTA

With so much focus on Henley Regatta (which we love and would never dare to knock) the Fowey Regatta often gets overlooked. Set in the most picturesque Cornish town with medieval and Tudor cottages and cobbled streets the Fowey Regatta takes place on the third week of August and is a regatta with a more local, quaint and family feel. 

Each year it features not just sailing but a range of other entertaining titbits such as a display from the Red Arrows, water polo, carnival processions, live music and fireworks over the harbour - how romantic.

2. THE NOMAD CINEMA

If you're looking for something a little different, and want to make the most of the summer weather then look no further than watching a movie outdoor in some of London's prime locations via the Nomad Cinema. They offer a range of classic movies in areas such as Fulham Palace, Queens Park, and Brompton Cemetery (for the brave)!

3. FOODIES FESTIVAL BATTERSEA

Feast at Battersea Park is back! From Over the weekend of the 15th, 16th and 17th August you can meander around the fabulous Battersea Park tasting your way through the day.

Each year the ever-growing festival sees tens-of-thousands of visitors flock from the surrounding areas to feast on a vast array of culinary activities, with a great view of the iconic Battersea Power Station.  We have top chefs cooking in the Chef’s Theatre; wine, beer, and cocktails in the Drink’s Theatre; join top pastry chefs in the brand new Chocolate, Cake, Bake and Preserves Theatre, and kids can learn to cook too in the Children’s Cookery Theatre.
